About the GNPS Logo

A Message from the Organizers

The Global Nature Positive Summit (GNPS) was created as a platform to turn the global Nature Positive ambition into concrete action. By bringing together leaders from business, finance, governments, science and civil society, the Summit aims to accelerate collective efforts to halt and reverse nature loss.

The GNPS logo was developed to reflect this ambition. It represents our belief that a Nature Positive future can only be achieved through collaboration across sectors, scales and geographies, and through long-term commitment that reconnects human activities with the natural systems on which they depend. The logo serves as a visual expression of coexistence between nature and society, and of action that grows from local landscapes to global impact.

Design Credit

The GNPS logo was designed by SHINME Inc.,(https://shinme.jp/) a Japanese design studio known for integrating contemporary design with deep respect for local context, culture and craftsmanship.
Working closely with the organisers, SHINME translated the spirit of Kumamoto—the host region of GNPS 2026—and the global vision of Nature Positive into a unified and meaningful visual identity.

Logo Concept and Meaning

The symbol mark is centered on the iconic landscape of Kusasenri in Aso, and encompasses the diverse environments that define Kumamoto: rivers nurtured by the “Land of Water,” farmlands representing human livelihoods and the economy, and the sea, home to one of Japan’s largest tidal flats and rich biodiversity. Together, these elements form a single landscape, symbolizing the interconnectedness of mountains, villages, rivers and oceans, a core principle of the Nature Positive approach.

The design incorporates traditional Japanese patterns, each carrying a specific meaning aligned with the Summit’s vision:

  • Scales Pattern – a symbol of regeneration and natural cycles, expressing the restoration of lost nature and the renewal of life

  • Rhombus Pattern – representing vitality, growth and sustainability

  • Shippo (Cloisonné) Pattern – symbolizing harmony, prosperity and enduring connections

  • Seigaiha (Blue Ocean Waves) – expressing continuity, tranquility and a sustainable future across generations

The color palette draws on traditional Japanese colors such as persimmon tannin brown, moss green and deep indigo, evoking the beauty of nature shaped over time and the quiet strength of enduring ecosystems.

Together, the GNPS logo expresses the Summit’s commitment to building a Nature Positive future in which nature, society and the economy thrive in balance.
